REFERENCE RANGES

The main purpose of providing reference ranges is to enable the measurement of an individual patient to be compared to a reference population in order to detect abnormal variations.

The Body Composition Monitor calculates the reference ranges and displays them together with the measurement results, please see Output, Fluid Management Tool.

Reference ranges are available for the following parameters:

The reference population

  • is derived from BCM - Body Composition Monitor measurements of 1000 healthy subjects aged between 18 and 75 years
  • is age and gender specific, because the body composition varies throughout life and between gender.
